Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort presents Whatever Floats Your Boat Charity Event

Willemstad (July 27th, 2017) – Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort partners with Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao and Curacao Clean Up to present the Whatever Floats Your Boat charity event. Taking place at the AAA Four-Diamond resort on Sunday, August 27th, the day-long event will aim to raise community awareness about recycling and the illegal dumping of harmful materials into our waters.

Santa Barbara’s inaugural Whatever Floats Your Boat event encourages participants to challenge friends, family and colleagues to build – and then decorate – boats with materials that may typically be thrown away, including woods and plastics. With teams of up to four people, eligible boats will race against in the lagoon at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort.

Advance registration for Whatever Floats Your Boat is required and can be done online at www.sbrcuracaovacation.com/floats. The program is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 from 12:00 NOON to 9:00 PM. Boats will race from 12:00 NOON to 6:00 PM with a beach party following from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. A $200 entry fee will be charged per boat with 100% of the proceeds donated to Curacao Clean Up and Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao.

Curacao Clean Up focuses on a variety of solutions to eliminate illegal trash sites and waste from the island’s streets, beaches, and oceans. The group’s activities include organized cleanups and educational programming to promote awareness and prevention.

Sea Turtle Conservation Curacao dedicates its resources to protect sea turtles through research, conservation, and education.
